Since “nothing happens until a sale is made”, and, since all sales come from leads, then leads are what makes everything happen. Therefore, leads (access to interested customers) are a precious commodity and should be regarded as blood- totally necessary to sustain the life of your business! Sales are the oxygen that is carried by the blood. When a person responds to a stimulus, he/she wants corresponding response. Isn’t this the same for you?

It has been said that a persons interest level dissipates at the rate of about 50% per day, with obvious variables. The graphic illustration that represents this is the tearing of a piece of paper in half, every day. The point to be made is this: leads are a direct prediction of your sales volume and must be responded to, in some way, as quickly as possible.

If you can’t get to them physically, then send them a letter explaining your position (out of stock, over-booked) and how the demand for the value of your product or service has temporarily placed you in that position. Offer a special bonus for those who will bear with you and wait. Also, with this same letter, ask who feels unable or unwilling to wait, and make every effort to handle those prospects.

Both those who commit to wait and those who feel that they cannot wait are telling you what your sales volume will be. This kind of letter will create good will as well as save you otherwise lost sales and the referrals that would have followed. If you don’t respond, you are creating “bad will” (same as bad- mouthing – but you’re targeting yourself) as well as lost sales.

You are also undermining your monitoring efforts by losing control of the leads. Attention to lead response demonstrates dependability, the number one criterion sought by end-users. It’s not the price, it’s not the product – it’s dependability that people want. Pay attention to your marketplace and it will continuously pay attention to you, and secure your future.

Monitor your own response rate to inquiries. Keep records of the inquiry date, first response date and sale percentage in relation to response date.

More on Leads

You cannot effectively change something that you have not measured. Monitor and measure to determine which kinds of lead generating techniques are best for you. You must experiment, but remember, tracking results is critical to productive experimentation. If the phone isn’t ringing off the hook, it is necessary to generate leads. There are nine ways that I know of to accomplish this end. I will detail them later, but let me add here that unless you are doing something to generate leads/customers, you will likely not survive in any business. If you look closely at most of the aggressive direct sales companies, they are characterized by two major aspects. First, these companies generate leads. Secondly, the sales people are well trained in closing.

Accomplish the main objectives! How can you monitor all efforts and their results. Test small changes, monitor the results.

It matters very little whether you are a selling rookie or a seasoned professional, sooner or later, you will find yourself mired in a selling slump. There are a number of actions you can take to shorten the duration of the slump, lessen the financial impact, and reduce the emotional drain that a slump can cause you.

This is ‘Tip 3’ in a series.

Selling slumps are as perennial as the seasons but they don’t need to destroy your career. Understand that they are part of the marketplace and they always will be. They are caused by a variety of factors but always keep in mind that you didn’t just wake up ‘dumb’ one morning. When you understand that fact, it will be easier to recognize that the situation is temporary. In old writings authors often used the term, “it came to pass”. They didn’t use the term, “it came to stay”.

Tip #3: Intensify your Qualification Process. One of the comments that I have heard many times over the years when dealing with salespeople who encounter slumps during times of abundant leads is that they feel frustrated with investing so much time only to ‘lose the sale’.

It’s hard to imagine a sales slump arriving during times of very high traffic. I assure you it does happen. The reason is quite simple. When there are many people needing service, there is pressure for salespeople to move quickly in order to get to all of the prospects.

When there is abundant traffic, there is also a greater number of people simply ‘looking’. These people may not be ready or able to make a purchase. Yet most will not easily volunteer that information. If you are going to avoid wasting your time and energy, you will need to intensify your qualification process so that you can flush out the real selling opportunities.

This strategy is effective at ‘event sales’ where a sense of urgency can be created in the mind of the customer. However, my general rule of thumb is that speed kills in the selling process. Therefore, this technique should be used only where prospect traffic is well above normal.

Protect and manage what matters most in your life with the perfect Smart Home complete solution. It’s simpler than you think!

When you hear people talk about “smart homes,” they are merely referring to the way that you can control and monitor your home’s systems remotely. You can check the temperature, turn down the cooling, make sure the doors are locked and secured, and much more.

If you want a smart home, you don’t have to go out and buy a new home. You can make changes to your current home, adding features that you can control with a computer, a tablet, or a mobile phone. Smart home products are popular for several reasons:

They are convenient.

They save you money.

They keep your home more comfortable.

They make your home safer.

They are easy and fun to manage.

HOW TO CHOOSE SMART PRODUCTS

Smart products can be a little more expensive than your typical home fixtures. For that reason, most people choose not to upgrade their entire home all at once with smart products. That is one of the benefits of transforming your abode into a smart home. You can choose to do it all at once or in steps. If you want to start with a few essentials, select smart home systems that will have the greatest impact. We recommend asking yourself a few questions to help you decide:

What home systems are costing me the most money to run? Or, which monthly bills related to my home do I most want to reduce?

What home systems do I most frequently forget to monitor?

Which home features do I wish would monitor themselves?

Where do I feel like my home is lacking in safety?

This list should help you narrow down your list to things like self-locking doors and windows, an inefficient heating or cooling system, or house lights that are frequently left on when not needed. Smart home products can solve any and all of these problems.

HOW THEY WORK

Smart home products are quick and easy for a professional to install. Vivint Smart Home is one of the best options on the market today. Once installed, they are easy for the entire family to use. You can have your smart products up and running in just a few days.

Have the Vivint installer walk you through set up or follow the owner’s manual to set up the smart home system initially.

Download any apps you need or set up your account on websites that monitor the smart feature in your home.

Access the app or website at work, at the gym, or anywhere on your phone.

Finally, get a good night’s sleep knowing all is well with your home and that you are secure.

You can customize your smart home system to exactly how you want it to work. This is what makes smart homes so convenient. Every family has different needs, such as when they eat, sleep, shower, clean dishes, and turn the lights on. Your smart home systems will work with your family’s schedule, minimizing energy usage and saving you time and money.

HOW THEY SAVE MONEY

How exactly do smart homes save you money? Several ways. Have you ever looked at your water bill and wished you could lower it permanently? Have you ever wondered what was causing your heating bill to skyrocket? Everyday life and every season has fluctuations, but smart products help to minimize those fluctuations while still meeting the family’s needs.

For example, a smart thermostat can be programmed to keep the house cooler at a certain time of day and then warmer during other times. When the house is always comfortable, there is no need for you to constantly be going back to the thermostat to turn it up. And if you never have to turn up the temperature, then you’ll never forget to turn it back down again. An added benefit of smart heating and cooling systems is that they usually include more energy-efficient heaters and air conditioners.

WHAT’S TRENDING WITH SMART HOMES

Manufacturers are constantly coming up with new and amazing products for smart homes. For example, not only can you program your thermostat from your phone, but now you can even install a smart thermostat that can remember your heating and cooling preferences and automatically set your home’s temperature without you touching a button. Talk about staying comfortable without shooting your utility bill through the roof! Here are a few other popular smart products on the market:

Water leak sensors

Water shutoff valves to stop leaks

Water heater shutoff

Energy-saving, programmable thermostats

Automated air conditioning systems

Motion detectors

Automatic, timed lights

Light dimmers

Digital security system

Automated home locks

GETTING STARTED by calling (855) 749-2910

Make sure you get high-quality smart home systems by talking to neighbors about products they have used and asking the experts about the highest-quality products they offer. You can also tell quality products by whether they come with a warranty. If you prefer to start slow, choose one or two smart changes to your house.

You can experience the convenience and the monthly savings before making further upgrades to your home. Every upgrade will make a difference and save energy and money. The more smart products you invest in, the more you’ll enjoy the benefits!

With the way technology works these days, owning a smart home has become even more exciting. From your home’s lighting, temperature control and even home security, the devices you can add are almost limitless. These things can easily make you want to keep adding more. If you already own a smart home and are currently thinking of upgrading it, here’s a quick rundown of what you need to do to make your smart home “smarter.”

Add Voice-Controlled Devices

Formerly, voice-controlled devices could only play music. Now, there are voice-controlled devices that can act as your assistants. They can set your alarms, control your lights and even give you directions, even without pressing any buttons. Some of these devices can even alert you if anything unusual happens at home.

Install Smart Lighting

Automating your lights can slash a huge portion of your electricity bill. Pair them with sensors, dimmers and wireless control and you’ll be able to save even more. You can set your lights to turn on and off, depending on your personal schedule or, add motion sensors, so you won’t waste energy. You can even use your smartphone to control the brightness, color as well as the ambiance of your home.

If your smart phone isn’t enough, you can install a smart device that can notify you when you have left your lights on. Apart from the alerts, this device can also give you an estimate of how much energy your home has already consumed.

Secure Your Router

When you’re building a smart home, your concern shouldn’t be limited to the kinds of devices you’ll invest in; you also have to take proper measures on how you’ll secure everything inside it. Your router is one of your home’s weakest spots. Much like your front door, you should strengthen it to keep intruders out.

Start by changing your password. As soon as you receive your router, change its default password with something that can’t easily be guessed. Refrain from using your birth year or the last digits of your phone number. As much as possible, create a lengthy password and make sure to use alphanumeric characters to make it even harder to crack.

It’s also a good idea to constantly upgrade your security software to decrease your devices’ vulnerability to new threats, like spying tools and viruses. Install a malware protection to prevent suspicious and malicious programs from running on your computer.

Upgrade Your Smoke Detector

An ordinary smoke detector that gets activated can cause confusion, especially if you have several units at home. If it isn’t monitored, there’s no way you’ll get alerted about a possible fire – unless you have some friendly neighbors looking after your home. For your safety and security, it’s best if you can upgrade your smoke detector to something smarter.

Most smart smoke detectors today are industrial grade and can last a long time. Some of them even come with dedicated apps to help make monitoring a lot easier. Apart from battery life, they can also tell you exactly which area of the house is showing increased temperature. They can even connect you to your local police and firemen for a quick resolution.

These extra features can mean a higher price tag. However, considering that they can augment your home security and initiate a faster response, they can be considered as valuable investments.

If you are on a tight budget and investing in new devices doesn’t seem feasible at the moment, your next best option is to invest in a device that can turn ordinary devices into smart ones.

Get a Smart Doorbell

As home automation becomes even more sophisticated, you’ll find yourself being able to do the things that seemed impossible before. Take, for example, answering your door, even if you’re not physically at home.

You’ll be able to tell the delivery man where to leave your parcel or check on someone who’s been showing interest in your front gate for several days. Burglars favor houses that are unoccupied. By being able to answer the door and show that you can see what’s happening around your property, you’ll be able to make your home a lot less favorable for burglary.

Smart doorbells can do so much more than that, especially when they are equipped with the right features. With night vision capabilities, live streaming and a two-way talk feature, you’ll be able to detect intruders and burglars even before they execute their plans. You can even record videos to serve as hard evidence in case someone manages to get inside your property.
