Hey everyone! Please pay special attention to the latest 5G tests conducted by RootMetrics, covering an incredible 245,000 miles and 6,653 indoor locations across the US. These tests differ significantly from the nearly 2.3 million tests performed in 125 of the most populated metropolitan markets in the second half of last year, due to the inclusion of rural areas. This change has impacted the results and the overall 5G award winners.

Verizon has emerged with two gold medals, T-Mobile with one, and AT&T with none. RootMetrics analysts now view Verizon as the new US 5G champion. This shift adds to T-Mobile’s challenges, as they now need to reclaim their “best 5G experience” title from Verizon.
Under the old methodology, the playing field was unfairly tilted towards T-Mobile. Plus, do you remember that Verizon voluntarily agreed to delay 5G rollouts to allow airlines to retrofit their older aircraft altimeters? However, Verizon now leads in 5G speed, while T-Mobile retains the 5G availability title. Verizon is the new US 5G champion, T-Mobile is second, and AT&T is last.

Verizon also won its seventh straight “Most Reliable 5G” award from RootMetrics. This award highlights Verizon’s consistent performance across the board, reaffirming its leadership in 5G reliability.

The 5G reliability prize remains with Verizon, highlighting AT&T’s struggle to compete in all 5G aspects, both urban and rural. Verizon’s 5G speed victory isn’t due to recent technological advancements or expansions. Similarly, T-Mobile’s loss isn’t due to any specific missteps. Instead, as 5G networks become ubiquitous, Verizon’s rural advantage has offset T-Mobile’s previous urban speed advantage.

We had the opportunity to talk to Greg Tiedeman and Karen Nguyen about the race and the impact it had on them, as well as Greg’s past experience as a competitive racer.

How long have you been a supporter of Children’s National? What experiences led up to you wanting to be a part of what Children’s National does?
Greg – My personal charitable focus has always been focused on helping children, so when ConectUS made the decision to get involved with Children’s National, I was super motivated to participate.
Karen – Rick, Neil, and I had the opportunity to learn more about Children’s National through NASCAR driver David Starr. David had told us exactly what Children’s National does and how he is involved in the organization.
We know that you had just represented in Children’s National’s 10th Annual ‘race for every child’ in Washington, D.C. How was that experience?
Greg – With a good deal of experience running competitively, yet one also very interested in the success of the charity event, I was very pleased with the level of organization for the race, as well as how the event focused on its primary purpose – raising money for the kids. Great job!
Karen – It was an amazing experience! This was my first time ever participating in a 5K, and it was truly such a wonderful experience being able to do it in the Nation’s Capital.
Tell us more about your experience with competitive racing. How has your past prepared you to run in this weekend’s race?
Greg – Simply knowing what to expect from the event and you nailed it. Great representation of the charity and great support by the local police force, making sure the runners were safe and the track was clearly laid out.
Have you participated in any races in support of another charity? How did that experience motivate you to race in support of Children’s National Hospital?
Greg – I have participated in many charity races over the years. What prepared me most was the cause – helping sick kids get better in order to live the life they deserve.
What is the importance of taking time out of your week to be able to attend an event in support of a good cause?
Greg – My belief in helping others, while humbly knowing I need to do more.
Do you think you will be wanting to attend more events like these in the future?
Karen – Absolutely! I have never experienced anything like this, but charity work is something that I am extremely fond and passionate about. I am looking forward to being able to donate my time to be able to make my mark in a cause.

We had the opportunity to talk with Jackie about the impact that CASA of Collin County has made, as well as what she and Rick does to assist in their efforts.

How long have you been a supporter of CASA of Collin County? What personal experiences led up to you wanting to be a part of what the CASA organization does?

I have made blankets for CASA for the last 5 or 6 years. I work at the UT Dallas Police Department, and David Spigelmyer, who plans our National Night Out, does things for CASA like toy drives and toothbrush drives.

We know that you had just gone to CASA of Collin County’s annual gala in Dallas, TX. How was that event? Have you been to any events prior to this in support of CASA?

The CASA event was spectacular! We had so much fun. This was the first event I have ever attended for CASA.

Tell us more about your sewing projects. What made you decide to start sewing? How many blankets do you think you have donated? Would you ever consider donating to other CASA sectors?

I sew fleece blankets for CASA to hand out to the children that are brought in. I have made over a hundred blankets for them. I started making blankets when I heard there was a need for it. I don’t know much about the other sectors of CASA. 

I understand that you (Jackie) have made many new friends while supporting CASA. How did they become involved, and do you find yourself socializing with them even outside of CASA-related activities?

My sewing group got together and made a whole bunch of blankets in one day, it was a great team effort and a lot faster than me doing it alone.

CASA of Collin County is committed to advocating for abused and neglected children. CASA of Collin County is appointed by District Court Judges as the child’s guardian ad litem or volunteer advocate and will be there to support these displaced children as they navigate through the child welfare system. Over the past 30 years, CASA of Collin County has been able to help over 12,000 children.

1. Focus on What Your Customers Really Want

Your customers really don’t want your products or services. They don’t even want what those products or services do for them. What they really want is to gain the specific feeling they get after buying and using your products or services.

Keep this in mind when you create web pages, sales letters and other selling presentations. Emphasize the feelings produced by using your product instead of talking about what your product is – or how it works.

Tip: Convert the benefits delivered by your product or service into vivid word pictures. Then put your prospect in the picture by dramatizing what it feels like to be enjoying those benefits.

Example, if you sell financial products, describe what it feels like to enjoy an affluent life style without debt.

2. Keep Communicating With Your Previous Non-Buyers

You’ve heard it before – but I’ll say it here again. Most prospective customers will not buy the first time they see or hear about your product or service. You’re losing a lot of sales if you do not persistently follow up with those prospects.

Your follow up procedure can be as simple as periodically contacting them with a new offer. Or it can be more complex like distributing a newsletter or providing updated product information.

Tip: You cannot follow up with prospects if you don’t know how to reach them. Set up a system for collecting the names and contact information of all prospects who do not buy from you.

Example, offer a special report, a list of sources or some other valuable information your prospects cannot get anywhere else. Deliver it only by email or postal mail so you can get their contact address.

3. Encourage Questions

Questions from prospects may be a nuisance. But answering them can be very profitable.

Prospective customers only take time to ask questions when they have a high level of interest in your product or service. Providing a satisfactory answer to a prospect’s question often leads directly to a sale.

Invite prospects to ask questions when in live selling situations. And make it easy for them to ask questions when they are not …such as at your web site. For example, list a phone number or email address where you or someone else can answer their questions.

Tip: Include a Questions and Answers page on your web site with answers to frequently asked questions. It will reduce the number of questions you have to answer individually.

4. Make Buying Easier

Every non-essential action in the buying process is an opportunity for the customer to reverse their decision …causing you to lose the sale.

Look for ways you can make your buying procedure easier and faster. For example, many marketers use a multi-step shopping cart to get online orders when a simple online order form would do the job with just 1 or 2 quick clicks.

Tip: Don’t ask for unnecessary information during the ordering process. Instead, send a personalized “thank you” message after the sale and include a brief request for the information.

These 4 selling tactics may not be new to you. But are you using all (or any) of them? If not, they can easily boost your sales …for little or no new expense – and without making major changes in your sales process.
